Air India Tokyo-Delhi flight diverted to Kolkata over "persistent warm temperature" in cabin
Leader of Opposition in Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav, had a narrow escape today when a drone, deployed to cover his 'Waqf Bachao, Samvidhan Bachao' rally at Patna's iconic Gandhi Maidan, strayed from its path and struck the podium he was speaking from. The incident, captured on video, caused the 35-year-old leader to instinctively duck for safety before quickly resuming his speech.
The unforeseen event occurred as Yadav, flanked by other party leaders, was addressing the large gathering. As he spoke, the drone suddenly veered towards him, brushing against the flower-decorated lectern and surprising the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader. His immediate reaction was to duck, pausing his address for a brief moment.
Following the incident, security personnel swiftly moved in and seized the rogue drone. While no injuries were reported, the event has raised questions about drone safety protocols at large public gatherings, especially those involving prominent political figures. With Bihar state polls due later this year, the incident adds a momentary distraction to the heightened political activity in the state.
